My mom passed away 3 days after Jonathan took incredible care of my dear mother in the ICU. She had been battling B-Cell Lymphoma for close to two months, spending most of that time in hospitals with excruciating back pain. Her last week was spent in the ICU, and Jonathan made the experience as humane and tolerable as possible. Up until the ICU, we thought my mom was going to make it. However, she went into hemorrhagic shock and was rushed into the ICU. Jonathan was with my mom for two days during the scariest moments of my mom's life. It was just my sister and me, and my mom was very unstable with medicines, keeping her alive. Jonathan was kind, gracious, and even offered much-needed levity and humor in a very dark, intense, and scary space. My mom had almost no mobility and had to go to the bathroom in bed, and Jonathan made sure my mom stayed clean and as comfortable as possible throughout. He never complained and was never irritated with me and my sister being in the room. Jonathan could tell how exhausted my sister and I were, as we'd been alternating spending the night in the hospital with my mom for two months. He encouraged us to go home and get rest (which we did). Jonathan went above and beyond by calling us early in the morning to provide important updates that happened overnight. No nurse had EVER taken the time to call us. He established trust and competence early on. He was just so kind and so thoughtful and loving to us and our mother. I can't thank Jonathan enough for providing such high-quality care to my mother. He made such a tragic and terrible experience a bit more tolerable. He should be honored for his work and his energy, and his spirit. Thank you, Jonathan.
