She really goes above and beyond for her patients.
Jolene was so kind to my mom and us as she was in massive pain when she walked or stood up. Mom was an active 90-year-old. This was really hard for her. When neuro needed another X-ray while standing without moving, mom couldn’t do it, and they said they may not be able to do it. She told them to call our nurse to find out what was wrong with her.

Mom was terrified - she knew what pain was coming. Jolene came down, talked mom through it, and brought her back up. Mom said she could not have done that without her. My dad was with us, visiting Mom. When we were leaving, Dad fell over mom’s walker onto the floor of mom's room. He was bleeding from his elbow and hurt his leg. I went out to get help. Jo saw my face and said, "What’s wrong?" She came in and bandaged Dad up and made sure he was ok. The whole nursing staff came to see if more help was needed.

Jo made Dad feel safe, and it was ok. This helped my mom feel better because she almost jumped out of bed, worried to help. If she had kept getting up, she would have fallen as well. Jolene has been a beacon of light in the midst of a difficult time.

With the remaining days of my mom's earthly life, Jo has been so kind to us and more so to my mom. She really goes above and beyond for her patients. Always offering help or asking if we needed anything. I have only been a nurse for a short time. It is apparent she is wiser beyond her years. Demonstrating that time or experience has no bearing on love. Especially when you can show love to strangers. You just know when someone is natural.

I also loved that she shared the story of her tattoo on her arm. It’s a very sweet story. In my mother's final days, Jo has been a significant part of ensuring she remains comfortable and cared for.
