John Riley started his nursing career late in life enrolling in nursing school at age 36, after serving for many years as a 911 responding EMT in NYC. Since starting at Woodhull Hospital's Paul Paroski Clinic in 2005, John felt that he had found his true home and calling. John was able to connect with many of his patients providing a safe space for them to seek care and dispel the stigma of AIDS. His drive to collaborate with patients and fellow staff, both within the clinic, and within the Ambulatory care, allowed him the opportunity to Chair the Ambulatory Care Shared Governance Council, earn the Woodhull MVP award and the NYC Health and Hospital's 2021 Nursing Excellence Award in the Community/Ambulatory Care category. His assessment skills, easygoing demeanor, and willingness to go the extra mile have made him an essential fixture within his practice, and a contributing member of the Woodhull family.

Note: This is John's 2nd DAISY Award!
