John truly exceeded all expectations in the care he provided during my stem cell donation at Duke BCC. From the moment he greeted my companion and me in the waiting room, his warmth and attentiveness were immediately evident. He graciously offered to carry our bags and made sure we knew where to find refreshments throughout the day, ensuring our comfort at every step.

John's kindness, compassion, and genuine care were apparent in every interaction. His great sense of humor was very much appreciated, as it helped to ease my nerves and bring lightness to the day. His thorough explanations of each stage of the process were reassuring, and he took the time to ensure I fully understood what would happen before moving forward.

Throughout the procedure, he continually offered words of encouragement, reminding me that I was doing an incredible thing and calling me a "champion" for my donation. His gratitude was sincere, as he thanked me numerous times for my contribution, making me feel valued and proud of my decision.

John and I bonded over our shared experiences as parents, and he lightened the atmosphere with funny stories from his own life, helping to pass the time and ease my anxiety. It’s clear that John is not only an exceptional nurse but also a person who genuinely loves his work. The positive energy he brings to his role is admirable, and he extends that to the team around him; his colleagues spoke highly of him when he was on break, noting what a pleasure it is to work with him.

I am deeply grateful for the care John provided, which made this process smooth and comfortable. Should I have the opportunity to donate again in the future, I will, without hesitation, be requesting John as my nurse. The Duke BCC is fortunate to have him on its care team. Thank you, John!
