He makes a remarkable effort to ensure that student nurses, patients, and their families feel seen, welcome, and fully informed about their health.
I am not a patient; I have been an employee here since 2012. I was performing an EEG on John's patient in the ICU. In all of my years working here, I have never encountered a more compassionate and dedicated nurse.

Nurse John consistently goes above and beyond in every aspect and role. He makes a remarkable effort to ensure that student nurses, patients, and their families feel seen, welcome, and fully informed about their health. He arrives early every morning, and before he clocks in, he reviews his patient list for the day and learns about each patient thoroughly so that, when his day begins, he can give them the best care possible.

Not only does he excel in his patient care, but he also extends his kindness in ways that truly stand out. At his own expense, he purchases snacks and drinks and creates a mobile cart that he takes to all floors, sharing with patients and their families and staff to help them feel comfortable and cared for. His ability to explain complex health issues clearly and compassionately is unparalleled. Whether he is speaking to a patient, family member, a student nurse, or coworker, he ensures they fully understand their situation, fostering trust and confidence.

What truly sets John apart is his empathy and respect for everyone he encounters. His ability to make people feel valued and supported is transformative, and it inspires everyone around him to rise to his level of care and kindness. His actions and attitude are already creating a ripple effect throughout the hospital, and I believe his influence will continue to change this institution for the better.

Nurse John's selflessness and exceptional ability to connect with others deserve to be celebrated. It is rare to find someone who exemplifies such unwavering commitment to the well-being of everyone around them. Thank you, John, for being a light to everyone who has the privilege to interact with you.
