He makes you feel comfortable and safe. He was always prompt and had complete knowledge of his job and any problems you might have, and was there to serve you.
Joe was very patient and compassionate. My mom is going to be 91 this month. When she has a UTI, she is very angry and difficult. She does not like to be touched, even when she is complaining about being wet and dirty.
Joe took the time to talk with her and explained everything before he did it. He gave her her dignity. There is nothing worse than being treated like a number and a job. Joe treated her like she was his own mother.
One example was when she pulled her heart monitor leads off. In order to put them back, Joe explained what he was doing. She was very rude to him, but he put the leads back on and never exposed her, showing the proper respect. Joe also expressed concern for my well-being.
As I stayed at the hospital for several days, he reminded me to eat and told me when to take a nap. He logically explained the plan for my mom. I really appreciate that when I explained things about my mom, he really listened. Joe never cut me off or tried to assume what I meant before I finished talking.
Thank you to Joe!

I was a patient on 6W for a week. Joe Griffo was my nurse. I am 88 years old and have been in the hospital numerous times. Joe was my nurse for three of the seven days I was in the hospital, and I can say without reservation that Joe was the most completely competent nurse I have ever experienced.
His knowledge of his job and the confidence he instills in patients are second to none. He makes you feel comfortable and safe. He was always prompt and had complete knowledge of his job and any problems you might have, and was there to serve you.
He is an asset to your organization, and I hope that if I am in the hospital in the future, I draw Joe again. I wanted to do something for Joe, but he wouldn't let me. He said it was just part of his job.
