She takes her time with me. She explains everything thoroughly and clearly. She is non-judgmental. You can tell she loves her job caring for people. She is making my stay here more tolerable. She always makes me feel heard, cared for, and happy.

***

Kind and cheerful demeanor; knowledgeable about her job; aware of the details of my condition; very attentive; took time to explain and make sure I understood specifics about procedures and diagnosis.

This nurse has been especially kind and caring for our family member, J. J was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago when she was diagnosed with colon cancer, which required emergency surgery. Subsequently, J was admitted to the ICU for complications after the surgery. After a brief day, she was then transferred to the rehabilitation facility across the street. While J wasn’t there long, she experienced additional complications. She was admitted through the emergency room, which is where we met the nurse. This nurse went above and beyond to care for our family members.

Recently, during a visit, J had trouble breathing. I ran out into the hallway, and the nurse ran to our side. In fact, she had already called respiratory to help our family member. She took her time and made sure all our questions were answered. Ironically, it wasn’t even this nurse's day to take care of J on the day she had the emergency with her breathing. We certainly appreciate everything the nurse does; it seems to me that she cares for every patient on the floor, not just the one she is assigned to.

Thank you, Jodi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
