I am writing to nominate Jocelyn for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding care and dedication during my father's stay at your hospital. Jocelyn went above and beyond in every aspect of her role, and it is because of her that we felt both comforted and cared for during a challenging time. From the moment my father was admitted, Jocelyn's professionalism, kindness, and knowledge stood out. Despite being a relatively young nurse, she displayed an impressive depth of understanding about my father's condition and treatment plan. She consistently took the time to discuss his treatment with us, explaining complex information in a way that was both clear and reassuring. It was immediately evident that Jocelyn was not only highly skilled but also genuinely compassionate in her approach to patient care.
One of the qualities that stood out most about Jocelyn was her commitment to my father's well-being. She regularly checked in on him, always taking the time to ensure he was comfortable and to address any concerns that arose. On one particular occasion, when his discharge medications did not arrive as scheduled, Jocelyn volunteered to go directly to the pharmacy to pick them up, ensuring there were no delays in his treatment. This proactive effort demonstrated her incredible dedication and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty for her patients. In addition to her knowledge and work ethic, Jocelyn's demeanor was always warm and approachable. She made us feel heard and valued, creating an environment of trust and compassion. My father felt truly cared for under her watch, and I am certain that his positive experience was due in large part to Jocelyn's exceptional qualities.
For all of these reasons, I strongly believe Jocelyn is most deserving of the DAISY Award. She embodies the true spirit of nursing, providing not only expert care but also a sense of comfort and security for both patients and their families. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness and professionalism, and we are proud to nominate her for this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for considering this nomination.

I had extreme pain, and she reached out to the staff for the best way to resolve it.

She was very professional, checked in on me, and explained the different procedures I was given. I was happy to have a nurse like her to take care of her team and me, too, even the cleaners. They were all great every time they saw you, even if not attending to you, it makes you feel more than in a hospital you are in.

Throughout her entire shift, she worked tirelessly to contact my doctor to get my meds processed. She advocated for me with the importance of this and stayed very on top of giving me my medications. She also addressed any questions or concerns and was very validating throughout our conversation as she took care of me. Fantastic nurse. I dealt with extreme vomiting during my visit, and she never made me feel bad about this and provided me with lots of emesis bags.
