While caring for a patient on B15, Joanne Ramoutar realized it was the patient's birthday. Joanne took the initiative to contact the food and nutrition department to order a cake to be delivered with the patient's meal tray. When the cake arrived, Joanne coordinated the nursing staff to go in and sing Happy Birthday to the patient. Joanne went above and beyond her nursing responsibility to ensure that despite being in the hospital, her patient would have a special day.
