I am honored to nominate Joanna for this award because she exemplifies the very best of nursing care. When I arrived for my third chemotherapy infusion, I was frightened and lacked confidence after experiencing significant problems during my previous two treatments. Joanna immediately recognized my anxiety and approached my care with exceptional professionalism, attention to detail, and compassion. She carefully ensured that every step of the infusion process was carried out correctly and thoroughly, giving me confidence that I was receiving safe, high-quality care. She was also the first nurse to thoughtfully document a detailed report afterward, demonstrating her commitment to accountability and excellence.

What truly sets Joanna apart is her ability to care for the whole person, not just the patient. She took the time to introduce herself to my family members, treated everyone with kindness and respect, and created a calm atmosphere during a very stressful experience. Her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine compassion helped restore the trust and confidence that my family and I had lost after previous infusion complications. Joanna has a remarkable gift for speaking with both intelligence and empathy, transforming fear into reassurance and uncertainty into confidence. Because of Joanna, what could have been another traumatic experience became one of healing, comfort, and trust. She completely turned our experience around, and we now feel confident that we are receiving the best possible care.
