CCMC is very fortunate to have a nurse like Jewell, she is truly an exceptional nurse who treats others how she would want to be treated.
I was unexpectedly admitted to L&D after a MFM appointment at 33 weeks with my first pregnancy due to severe preeclampsia. It was a very scary experience, and I was not expecting to have my baby early. This experience was one of the most difficult I have ever endured. Jewell was with me from the beginning; she provided excellent care every day. She helped me through receiving multiple blood pressure medications and a magnesium drip.
My blood pressure spiked to 200/100 with high levels of protein in my urine. Every day, Jewell expressed her concern for my husband and me. She went out of her way to go the extra mile to help us. She helped me with every small concern or request. When I was bed-bound with a magnesium drip, she offered encouragement and support. I don't think I could have gone through this hospital experience without Jewell.
After my C-section and delivery at 33 weeks, my baby was admitted to the NICU. I received another magnesium drip for 24 hours after delivery. Afterward, I was kept in the hospital for about 5 days to get my blood pressure under control. I saw Jewell almost every day, and I looked forward to seeing her. Some days I was starting to lose hope and felt depressed, Jewell got me back on my feet and lifted my spirits. Every day she asked about my baby and how she was doing, she went the extra mile to transport me to the NICU when I couldn't walk. I am so grateful I met Jewell; she treats all patients with respect and compassion. CCMC is very fortunate to have a nurse like Jewell, she is truly an exceptional nurse who treats others how she would want to be treated. I'm so grateful for her support and help during a really difficult time in my life.
