The purpose of this is to hopefully bring you a few moments of joy for all the peace I received while being under the care of Nurse Jesie Valkenaar for a kidney biopsy.

I hope I can find the words to sufficiently describe the total professionalism of Nurse Valkenaar. She is beyond excellent, beyond dedicated, and truly extraordinary. She is the gold standard, no, the diamond standard for this profession. I have been in the hospital several times during my life, and I have never received such thoughtful, kind, and committed care as she gave me throughout the entire procedure.

In fact, Nurse Valkenaar’s thoughtfulness, kindness, and commitment made the biopsy procedure a wonderful experience. I was concerned about the pain and recovery, but she was there for me every step of the way. Always reassuring, always positive, and always committed to my well-being and state of mind. What a total blessing it was to be under her care.

Nurse Valkenaar represents the very apex of nursing. She is not only an incredible talent but also a true blessing to her patients. I cannot imagine being treated better than the care she provided to me.  The care provided by the entire team was exemplary. There was no confusion at any point. Everyone knew what to do and how to do it. Although there were several patients being cared for at the same time, the team remained calm, efficient, and effective. Their training was clearly reflected in their actions.

There is a special blessing over Medical City Hospital in Lewisville, Texas. There is no other way to describe the professionalism, talent, commitment, and care provided to every patient who walks through your doors.

Nurse Valkenaar has earned recognition for her dedication and love for her work. No one can perform at that level without being truly gifted. Nurse Valkenaar is a blessing, and she will continue to be a blessing to all under her care.

I may not have fully expressed how grateful and appreciative I am for the care I received, nor have I adequately described the wonderful experience I had during my biopsy in the Interventional Radiology Department. 

On a lighter note, I was offered a snack near the end of my recovery. As my blessings continued, I was given penne pasta, a salad, and a piece of garlic bread. Being of Italian heritage, this added even more joy to my experience. It truly felt like the perfect ending to an already wonderful day.

Nurse Valkenaar brings an abundance of faith to all in her care. She brings hope. She brings love. Nothing more can be asked of anyone in any profession.

She is a lighthouse, a true beacon of light for others to follow. She stands courageously. She stands strong. She stands bravely, every day, every week, every month, and every year.

She stands as the absolute zenith of nursing care.
