Jessica Woolard, RN

Jessica is a nurse that every caregiver wants to work alongside, and every patient wishes to have. Her heart is truly one of a kind. She is always putting others first. Jessica's dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence are apparent through her work each and every day.

Whether it is taking care of her patients, their families, her coworkers, or assisting with onboarding new staff, she puts patients first, exceeds expectations, looks beyond clinical needs, and does so in a manner where our mission, vision, and values are at the forefront.

While there are countless examples of Jessica going above and beyond, one moment stands out. Recently, a pediatric patient presented to the ED not feeling well. After undergoing multiple tests, it was determined that the patient would need to be transferred to a pediatric hospital for surgery. Everyone can imagine this was a stressful situation for both the patient and the family, and of all the days, it was her 13th birthday.

Jessica recognized this and wanted to do something special for her patient. She went to the gift shop and purchased a balloon and card. She took the card around the ED to have all of her coworkers sign a birthday wish and message of support. Before giving it all to the patient, she added $13 to honor it being her 13th birthday.

This thoughtful, heartfelt gesture demonstrates who she is as both a person and a nurse. She is more than deserving of this recognition for the exceptional care, kindness, and empathy she brings to her patients, their families, and her team every day!
