Jessica had been an Assistant Manager for only a few weeks when she was asked to cover for her manager, who went on an extended leave. She managed the Atrium West Rehab unit as well as the completion of construction of the new Courtyard Rehab unit that opened in September. She quickly stepped up and took on any challenge that was handed to her, including construction issues, hiring and orienting large numbers of staff, obtaining equipment and supplies, developing processes for a new unit, and anything else that needed to be done.

Jessica has a sharp mind and a kind heart, and always tries to do what is best for patients and colleagues. In the midst of chaos on the Rehab units, she has encouraged everyone to do their best and held people accountable when their actions were not appropriate. Despite still learning her role, she has never shied away from taking on new projects or supporting others in the work they do. It has been a pleasure working with Jessica as she has grown into her role with minimal orientation and support.
