The past month for my husband E and I has been full of ups and downs as he suffered a stroke, which led him to needing open heart surgery. We were well on our way to recovery when he unfortunately hit a bump in the road. We found ourselves at the Geneva Medical Center Emergency Department, unsure of what was in store.

Although all of the staff was exceptional, we found his nurse, Jessica, to be a godsend. We are firm believers that laughter is the best medicine. Not only did Jessica provide exceptional care to my husband with her knowledge, kindness, and compassion, but she also, most importantly, provided the gift of laughter to my husband to put his mind at ease. She was thorough in explaining all tests and prompt in keeping us informed on his transfer status to CMC. Jessica's care did not stop with my husband, however. I had mentioned earlier in our visit that I had been up for 24 hours at this point due to working the night prior. Seeing my energy levels low, she was kind enough to locate a recliner chair for me to get some rest while we waited on transport.

Words are not enough to tell Jessica how much we appreciate the time and care she provided to not only my husband but also myself. She is truly a fantastic, compassionate human being who provided above and beyond care to us that day.
