Jessica is a natural leader, serving in leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels. She is consistently the first to volunteer for new initiatives, service opportunities, and clinical support, demonstrating her commitment to nursing and her community.

What truly sets Jessica apart is her profound empathy and proactive advocacy on behalf of her peers. When a fellow student was in crisis and expressed suicidal thoughts, Jessica acted swiftly and compassionately. She immediately alerted faculty, accompanied them and the student to counseling services, and followed through to ensure the student received ongoing care. Her quick thinking, empathy, and advocacy very likely saved a life.

Jessica also excels in the clinical setting. Faculty consistently report that her clinical skills are outstanding, and she is known for her professionalism and precision in patient care. In addition to her own success, she supports her peers by assisting them in learning vital skills such as patient validation techniques, always with patience and encouragement. Jessica embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award — clinical excellence, compassion, advocacy, and leadership. She uplifts those around her and embodies the future of nursing at its finest.
