Jessica came onto 8 East for a patient who needed intubation. She was exceptional! I would like to nominate a truly exceptional nurse for the DAISY Award. She is a rapid response nurse who recently responded to a call on 8 East. From the moment she arrived, her sense of urgency, professionalism, and deep concern for the patient were unmistakable. She immediately assessed the situation and jumped right in, doing what needed to be done without hesitation. Her calm demeanor, clinical expertise, and quick thinking brought reassurance not only to the patient but also to the staff present. She embodied everything that nursing stands for: compassion, integrity, and relentless commitment to patient care. She didn’t just do her job; she went above and beyond, demonstrating the very core values that define excellent nursing practice. Her actions that day were a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. She made a meaningful impact in a critical moment, and for that, I am incredibly grateful. As a tech who will be a nurse in the next couple of years, I aspire to be that kind of nurse.
