Jessica Augeri, BSN, RN
My health took a turn for the worse, and I was placed on ECMO. Jessica was my nurse in the MICU department before I was transferred to the Cardiac ICU. I do not remember much about my time in the MICU, but I know Jessica made a huge impact on my family.
The physicians were not sure I was going to make it, and all my family was called in. Jessica stayed five hours past her shift and really comforted my family. She has also made a point to check in on me every chance she gets, even though I am no longer on ECMO or in the MICU department.
She is one of the most caring nurses I have ever met. She made such an impact on my family and really helped them through a difficult time. She has also made a huge impact on me. Having her check in on me so much even though I am no longer her patient has meant a lot to me.
I believe Jessica is what this award is truly about. She went above and beyond what was expected of her.
