We also felt reassured by Jeremy’s responsiveness and physical capability, which gave us an added sense of peace knowing he was in strong, capable hands.
Our family is honored to recognize Jeremy Garde, a nurse in the CVICU, for the extraordinary care he provided to my father and our family during the most difficult time of our lives.
My dad was flown from Yuma to Tucson and placed on full life support in an effort to save his life. During the two weeks we spent in the CVICU, Jeremy was the most consistent presence in his care. In a situation filled with fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming emotion, Jeremy brought a sense of calm, strength, and trust that we will never forget.
Jeremy is extremely skilled and intelligent, and his dedication to his patients is evident in everything he does. He took the time to thoroughly explain the treatments being provided and what we could expect, always ensuring we understood and felt supported. He never rushed us, no matter how many questions we had. And we had a lot of questions! He spent a significant amount of time with our family, offering both information and comfort.
What stood out most was not only his clinical expertise, but his compassion and kindness. Jeremy treated my dad with dignity and respect at all times, caring for him as though he truly mattered—because he did. We also felt reassured by Jeremy’s responsiveness and physical capability, which gave us an added sense of peace knowing he was in strong, capable hands.
Over those two weeks, Jeremy earned our complete trust. He was consistently attentive, dedicated, and considerate —not just toward my dad, but toward our entire family. In one of the most painful moments of our lives, Jeremy made an immeasurable impact through his presence, his care, and his humanity.
Our family will always be incredibly grateful that the entire team at Banner, but especially Jeremy, was there to care for our dad—our hero. He is truly a remarkable human and represents the very best of what nursing should be.
