Jennifer took the time to help this patient and her husband see one another by placing this patient into a wheelchair and going from window to window until the patient saw the flashing headlights.
Jennifer Stevens had helped a patient who could not leave their wheelchair and was unable to have visitors come to their room. Disheartened by the situation, Jennifer took the time to help this patient and her husband see one another by placing this patient into a wheelchair and going from window to window until the patient saw the flashing headlights outside (signaling that it was her husband). This patient was so delighted that she was able to not only speak with her husband over the phone but had the ability to see him through her time healing with us at Carilion. The patient mentioned in her nomination "That [this] was such a good feeling for my husband and me, one we'll never forget".
Note: This is Jen's 2nd DAISY Award!
