Jennifer gave me the "little push" I needed to speed up my recovery.
I was admitted for diverticulitis, a torn bowel, and in severe pain. Jen came in and wrapped around me like an angel. She is very caring and advocates for all her patients. She checked in often and even gave my family support when they visited. She went the extra mile, and I feel she truly loves what she does. She washed my hair and held my hand when all I could do was cry in pain. She is amazing and caring, and I couldn't ask for a better nurse. She always went the extra mile for me and my family, and always knew what I needed sometimes before I knew. She gave me excellent care and always had a hug.

Jennifer is truly a "rock star." My husband was an inpatient at NMC for 2 days. When he was brought to his room from surgery, she greeted him with a smile. She was very soft spoken and gentle as she introduced herself. She immediately asked what he needed; what she could do to make him more comfortable...a pillow, blanket, ginger ale, as well as what she could do for me. She was always available when we needed anything. We felt like he was her only patient, but we could tell she treated everyone like that. She truly loves her work.

I met Jennifer the day after my surgery. I am a nurse also, and she developed a conversation about the span of being a nurse over 48 years. She was polite and showed it mattered who I was and the level of my pain. She reminded me of what I was 2 years into my career, so long ago.

Jennifer gave me the "little push" I needed to speed up my recovery. She was always upbeat, smiling, and supportive. The one thing that stands out in my mind was the help getting me off oxygen. She said to me, "When you think you aren't breathing well, remember to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Smell the flowers, and blow out the candles." With her positive attention, she helped me more than she realizes.
