Jen is incredibly flexible and demonstrates outstanding leadership.
It is my heartfelt privilege to introduce Jennifer McNeill. Known to us all as Jen, she serves as an acute care RN in our Surgical Neuro Unit, where she plays multiple crucial roles, including preceptor, mentor, charge resource, CDC co-chair, and Magnet Ambassador. Through each role, she uplifts our team and cares deeply for our patients.
Jen’s dedication to her work is evident in everything she does, and her passion for nursing shines through in her impeccable clinical skills and knowledge. She approaches every situation with a compassionate heart and a steadfast commitment to advocating for our patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
Her peers consistently praise her willingness to help, especially during busy times, and commend her for being an exceptional mentor who shares knowledge and fosters growth within the team. Jen’s reliability and readiness to assist during challenging situations ensure we consistently deliver high-quality care.
Jen is incredibly flexible and demonstrates outstanding leadership. She steps up whenever the unit needs an extra hand, showing her commitment to our team’s success. As a Magnet Ambassador, Jen supported the staff and prepared the unit for a magnet redesignation survey. Additionally, she displayed her leadership skills by seamlessly taking over the CDC co-chair role during a crucial transition, ensuring the committee's smooth operation with her diligent preparation and dedication.
Her dedication extends beyond her colleagues to the families of our patients. A heartfelt nomination for the DAISY Award came from a neuro patient’s family, who praised Jen for her attentiveness to a patient who had suffered a stroke and her thoughtfulness in supporting the family. Recognizing their need for more information, Jen arranged for a neurologist to address their concerns, becoming an integral and positive part of their stay at Providence St. Jude Hospital.
Jen’s unwavering commitment and extraordinary contributions inspire us all. We are truly blessed to have her as part of our team. We are thrilled that Jen is receiving the DAISY Award.
