Jennifer Jarma, BSN, RN

I have had the privilege of working alongside Jenny Jarma in the Pediatric ED, and she has taught me more than I can probably put into one paragraph. One situation that really stands out is during traumas and other high-acuity emergencies. There have been moments when I feel like a deer in headlights, but Jenny always seems to know exactly what needs to happen. She brings a calm, knowledgeable presence to the room, helps me refocus, and guides me through the situation without ever making me feel embarrassed for asking questions. She has an incredible ability to take concepts from education and immediately connect them to real clinical practice, helping me understand not just what to do, but why we are doing it. She always keeps the patient and family at the center of care.

I know that in any medical emergency, I can count on Jenny to be an expert resource who will help keep both the patient and the team safe. What makes her such an exceptional educator, though, is that her impact goes far beyond a single shift or emergency. She creates an environment where nurses feel comfortable learning, asking questions, thinking critically, and continuing to grow. Jenny truly makes the people around her better nurses, and I am incredibly grateful to have learned from her.
