Simply stated, Jenn is an extraordinary nurse. This past year the president of the hospital began to identify an uptick in the stories and information shared with him from clinical staff related to abusive behaviors displayed to staff from patients and visitors. Additionally, our scores on the employee engagement survey question related to abusive behavior caught his attention. He quickly scheduled time at a nursing staff meeting to discuss his concern for this topic and asked if any nurses would be interested in working with him to help implement interventions to minimize this issue for our clinical staff.
Jenn shot into action, and from this one meeting in the middle of Summer of 2018, she has worked tirelessly to create, implement, execute and support the Behavioral Emergency Response Team - an evidence-based response to add a layer of support for our clinical team. She led a team that created the workflows and response, like the "Rapid Response Team" for behavioral emergencies regarding patients, visitors, and staff. The "go live" of this team occurred November of 2018 and she is still supporting the team as the leader now in January of 2019. We are lucky to have Jenn, she has taken an idea through to execution to support our front-line staff every day, 24/7. Jenn is a staff safety champion and a true advocate for every clinician in this room, building, and system. Thank you for all you do for each of us Jenn, you are amazing!
