She truly went above and beyond for this patient, and they are forever grateful for her.
Earlier this year, Jenny led an effort to arrange a wedding inside the ICU for a patient entering hospice care. Recognizing the importance of the moment for the couple, she coordinated with staff to gather the necessary paperwork, decorate the room, arrange music, and create a peaceful setting. Within hours, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony supported by the ICU team. The moment brought comfort, joy, and cherished memories during an incredibly difficult time.

Jenny went above and beyond to help her patient and their fiancé get married before the patient went to hospice. She made sure they got their marriage license and set everything up. She even went as far as to go to Hubbard Hospice House and decorate the patient's room with a ton of flowers and cake for the newlyweds before they arrived. She also decorated the ICU room for the patient so they could have as normal a wedding as possible. She truly went
above and beyond for this patient, and they are forever grateful for her.

Reflecting on receiving the DAISY Award, Jenny shared, “Winning the DAISY Award so early in my nursing journey means the world to me, especially knowing how tough it is to care for patients nearing the end of life in critical care. Being able to bring joy and hope by arranging a wedding for a couple entering hospice care showed me that even in the hardest moments, small acts of kindness can create unforgettable memories and comfort. I will be forever grateful to have received this award.”

Jenny exemplifies the heart of critical care nursing. Her compassion, advocacy, and willingness to go above and beyond truly reflect the spirit of the DAISY Award.
