I trusted her knowledge and nursing care. She took the worry and anxiety down by helping me assess my distressed area and decide what was the best treatment for pain and to be comfortable.
I did not look the way I felt, because just by looking at me, one saw a person smiling and cheerful. Pain can take the effort of a mere smile away, but there are people who can make the pain bearable, and when there aren't any more pills or pep talk, a Nurse can be the solace of peace. My solace of peace is Jen from Good Samaritan Hospital, O-Neil 3. I was apprehensive about coming to the hospital, because based on my last admission in October. I knew what would cause me to be admitted. When you have a diagnosis that there is no cure, one has to physically and mentally alter the way you think about your disability. It is painful and arises when you least expect it, but questions always arise as to the correct medication, antibiotics, pain medication, and course of treatment.

My nurse, Jen, was "awesome". Her spirit was calm and relaxing, which soothed my spirit. Her smile made me smile, and through my pain, she was patient and concerned. When I asked questions about the changing of my antibiotics and the missing medication, I was heard and acknowledged. Jennifer followed up by calling the doctor on call and getting the clarity I needed to feel comfortable. When I rang the call bell, Jen seemed to be on roller skates because she was "there" when I needed her. She did not make me feel as if I was getting on her nerves or my questions were minimized. I trusted her knowledge and nursing care. She took the worry and anxiety down by helping me assess my distressed area and decide what was the best treatment for pain and to be comfortable. Nurses help find the light so it can shine on the darkness.

I couldn’t have asked for a better care. My nurse was awesome. She really likes what she does. You can tell her heart is in it. She was so patient and caring. She never once made me feel uncomfortable or that I was getting on her nerves. She was always there. Thank you, Good Samaritan, for such a wonderful care experience and a great nurse.
