Jennifer is an inspirational role model because of the multitudes of responsibilities she juggles to enhance her nursing knowledge, serve clients within the community meeting public health and psychiatric health needs, and educate undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Her nursing students really love her. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner, in 2016 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Southeastern Louisiana University. Jennifer is a full-time faculty member at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is the chair of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions Commencement Committee which is a huge responsibility. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society (Delta Eta Chapter). She primarily serves the underrepresented, marginalized population, including those with mental health disorders and the indigent, in her community and psychiatric nurse roles. She works in a private practice specializing in medication management for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. In addition, she provides psychiatric evaluations for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees. She is a single mother of three and an active Girl Scout Leader. Jennifer also serves as a camp nurse, and manages to function in all these roles with poise, buoyancy, and enthusiasm, and finds time to be a good friend to many. She always makes time to listen and display empathy, despite her plate being so full. I am proud to call her my colleague and my friend.
