First of all, her nursing skills were impeccable!! I was apprehensive, and she knew what to say and do to put me at ease. She checked on me frequently and explained everything to me as to what she was doing and why. She took care of things that needed to be done that other charge nurses would have left for others to do. I told her on a scale of 1-10, I would give her a 15, but I think I need to change that to a 20! I can't give you a specific situation that makes me feel she is deserving of the DAISY Award, but it is because of her overall care. Based on her care for me, I know I wasn't an isolated case. What I'm trying to say is it's not one specific thing she did that makes her an outstanding nurse, but her overall day-to-day care of her patients. That's why I feel she deserves the DAISY Award! She is the best!
