Jenna was my nurse during my induction of labor. When I got my epidural, it took three attempts to get it in the right spot. Jenna was super supportive throughout the long epidural placement process. Then, after my epidural, my blood pressure went very low, and the baby’s heart rate kept going low. Jenna spent a lot of time in my room to make sure my blood pressure was improving, the baby’s heart rate was improving, and we were moving in the right direction.

After that, while monitoring me, Jenna had a suspicion that maybe it was time to push, and she grabbed the midwife, and they checked me, and I was ready. Additionally, Jenna connected with us on a personal level, asking us thoughtful questions about how we picked our donor sperm, our fertility process, etc. As an LGBTQ family, it was very nice to connect with our nurse who asked such thoughtful questions.
