We had a critical situation involving a 1-day-old infant in the NICU at the RMC. The infant had developed an unexpected complication of a lung pneumothorax, which required rapid and complex intervention. As the neonatologist, I was fortunate to have some of my best staff to assist in managing and stabilizing the baby for the best outcome. Please recognize Tiffany Martinez, RN, who volunteered to help and provided her expertise in the complex management; Jesse Grindel, RN, who assisted me in the placement of the chest tube; and Jenifer, the daily RN, who organized and collected all the supplies required to manage this critical baby. The team performed to provide the standard with this baby. We are fortunate to have such a Strong, well-dedicated, and trained staff. Thank you to all of them, and they deserve all the recognition for their exceptional skills.
