Jen Tobon, RN

Following our son E’s heart transplant, he was transferred from the PCICU to the 9th Floor. He was very nervous about leaving his 4th Floor family but Jen took such good care of him that he soon started to feel more at home. We had hoped that E would be home for his 8th birthday; however, it became clear that he would be spending it in the hospital. Jen took care to make sure E’s birthday was super special. When we arrived that morning, his doorway was decorated with balloons and a poster that all of the nurses signed with their well wishes. She coordinated with the 4th Floor to have a party for him in the conference room and even drew his favorite Bluey characters on the whiteboard. So many nurses from 4th and 9th floor attended and stopped by to wish him a happy birthday. Jen also gave us a medication list and schedule and helped to educate us regarding E’s meds. We would not have known she had other patients as Jen gave E such excellent care.
