I would like to recognize Jemima for her professionalism, expertise, and care that she showed my family member during the last few hours of his life.

He had just coded in the ER before transferring to the ICU, and his condition was scary and shocking to the entire family. As an RN (and fellow KP employee) myself, I felt extremely comfortable and confident with the care Jemima provided the minute our family member came up to the ICU.

Jemima was thorough, precise, and attentive to the medical care our family member needed. I was amazed at how she skillfully balanced providing that high level of care while juggling speaking with multiple family members and explaining what kind of medications and procedures were being done.

When our family member was then told by the MD that there were no other medical options and that he would need comfort care, I again felt very confident with the way Jemima provided skillful nursing care, combined with compassion and clear communication to our family.

As our family member began to transition and begin the process of passing away, Jemima did such a good job explaining signs and symptoms to anticipate, answered all of my family's questions promptly, and, more than anything, was kind and empathetic.

Only an exceptional nurse like Jemima can confidently and skillfully juggle critical care while providing emotional support to the family. I know my mother-in-law and many other family members are so appreciative of the care she gave to our family member in his last hours of life.

The ICU at Kaiser Santa Rosa is lucky to have Jemima on staff, and I know any future patient that she cares for will be in great hands.
