If it weren’t for Jeffrey’s level of knowledge and strong advocacy for his patients, the small complication could have become much worse for our family, who had already been through such a traumatic event.
My husband, a Pennsylvania State Trooper, was shot in the line of duty, along with another Trooper. Just a day after his surgery, while the incident was still very much fresh on our minds, we had the pleasure of having Jeffrey as our nurse.

At the very beginning of Jeff’s shift, while my husband was still sleeping, he talked with me and got to know me as a person, not just as his patient’s wife. When I told him I was planning on going to a local gym to shower, he recommended which location he preferred best and recommended nearby local businesses for food/protein shakes, etc. I really appreciated that because I enjoy supporting small businesses.

Jeffrey was amazing during the entire shift. He was consistently checking in on both my husband and me and assessing our needs. Later during the day, he immediately noticed my husband’s slight change in vital signs to indicate a potential pulmonary embolism. He did not hesitate to immediately consult the doctor and advocate for a repeat CT scan. The doctors agreed and ordered one. Jeffrey then saw my husband down to the procedure and back. Once we obtained the results, a small pulmonary embolism was noted, and treatment was immediately initiated.

If it weren’t for Jeffrey’s level of knowledge and strong advocacy for his patients, the small complication could have become much worse for our family, who had already been through such a traumatic event. Jeffrey was also the funniest and kindest person, which was exactly what we and all our fellow Troopers, friends, and family who visited needed in the wake of such a horrific event.
