I will forever be grateful to Jefferey for guiding my son through the hardest moment of his life thus far with so much care, understanding, and patience.

My Mother-In-Law received the utmost compassion, kind communication, and tender care from Jefferey. There was so much respect shown for her modesty and privacy, even though she could not communicate those needs on her own. Jefferey spoke with so much heart and warmth in every action and guided our family so compassionately.

My 10-year-old son was absolutely devastated knowing that he was going to be losing his grandmother (they were extremely close), and with my permission, this nurse got onto his knees and spoke to my child through his grief and helped him find the words he needed to identify his feelings and fear. I will forever be grateful to him for guiding my son through the hardest moment of his life thus far with so much care, understanding, and patience.

Jefferey also helped my other two children feel involved, important, and understood in very age-appropriate ways. Even when we had more visitors than most units would be comfortable with in the final hours, we were shown nothing but respect as we answered a number of medical questions and offered gentle guidance along the way. Unfortunately, I’ve been in the position of watching a loved one die before, and I also come from a family of medical professionals. What was given to us during this time is not the norm.

I will forever speak highly of UCLA Santa Monica, its staff, and Jefferey. He made what was an awful few days for my family into the most peaceful time it could possibly have been. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are a beautiful soul, and in the absolute right profession.
