At admission, it was explained that I was septic, and I stayed in the ICU for six days, and after I was transferred to Encompass Health Rehab. My daughter is a Nurse Practitioner, so I have always been interested in Nursing. I then met Jeannine, whom I call my Florence Nightingale! She is loving and compassionate to all patients, regardless of how critical their condition is. What people don’t realize is that you need a loving nurse during your time of recuperation. I have been super impressed with her. I have been in all the hospitals in Richmond, and I can’t find anyone who has been so loving and caring, which is so important when it comes to patient care. Jeannine has made my stay in this Rehabilitation Hospital so much better than other places. I never heard Jeannine complain about anything. My daughter came to visit and mentioned how pleased she was with the care she provided and her attention to detail. Unfortunately, after multiple previous attempts to insert an IV, they were unable to complete the task, but Jeannine came in and inserted the IV flawlessly. Jeannine holds a very special place in my heart for helping me through this difficult time. I am 86 years old, and I have witnessed many instances when nurses could have done more or shown a little more compassion and a little more patience, which has proven to go a long way. During my 7-day stay here at Encompass Health, all of the Nurses have been great, but there is a special quality in Jeannine, and I will always remember her and the exceptional level of care she provided me, as well as the love and comfort she extended to me during this critical time of my life.
