August 2023 Honoree
Jeanette Leigh Preston, RN
Jeanette supported me with my two young children. Postnatally, I had difficulties with my own mental health and she went above and beyond in providing compassionate care. She made me feel at a time when I felt extremely alone that there was someone I could turn to and made my journey as a new mum smoother.
I had some serious difficulties in my personal life and I really believe in part without her unwavering support my life would look very different now and I wouldn't have found my own voice or courage at a time when I felt powerless. Life for me is very different now, my children and I have a happy and safe life, and I owe Jeanette and her kindness, support, and empowerment an immense debt of gratitude for this.
There will never be any award to sum up how she helped me and hope she realises the difference she made to my family just by being her.
