From admission to discharge, Jean showed extraordinary, compassionate care to my daughter, R. It was R's first time being admitted to the hospital. Jean helped ease my nerves as a first-time mom. One particular moment that was special to me was when R needed an IV. Since it was her first hospital stay, it was her first IV too. Jean stayed past her shift to help place R's IV. She helped to keep R calm and explain what was going on in a way that a 2-year-old could understand. This helped to build rapport and trust between R and Jean.

Jean was the only person R would talk to and interact with by the end of her hospital stay. Jean not only made sure R had everything she needed, but she did the same for my husband and me. Jean made sure to keep us updated on R's plan of care, was very knowledgeable in her role, and explained everything to us that she was doing to R. The care Jean gave our daughter and family during her hospital stay was truly exceptional. We are extremely thankful for her!
