Jazzmin was one of the day nurses who cared for my father. From what I understand, Jazzmin was only part-time because she had just had a baby. Dad had pictures of Jazzmin's wedding hanging on his wall, and I thought it was a little strange because she is not family, just a nurse, but she was more than a nurse to Dad. She would talk to him, work puzzles with him, and spend time conversing with him. She knew Dad and his love of music, and that was one of the conversations that they would have. Shortly after putting dad in hospice, he started fading fast, and we made a point to have someone at his side the entire time. For the most part, he would not know we were there, very little communication from him at all, but when Jazzmin came in the room and spoke to him, it was as if he knew it was her. He dearly loved his Nurse Jazzmin. She made it a point to stop by on Wednesday to see him and how he was doing. It was her day off! She spent about half an hour hanging out with Dad, my wife, and me, just talking with him and visiting with us. Again, on her day off! I just love the time she spent with Dad, treating him like a grandpa figure and making him feel like he was special.
