Recently, Jayda responded to a patient crisis in the Pulmonary ICU Acute Care Overflow, and her actions left a lasting impact on everyone involved. Multiple team members shared how Jayda stayed with the patient’s family during an incredibly difficult time, offering comfort, presence, and compassion when they needed it most. She didn’t rush the moment; she simply showed up for them, holding space in a way that only a truly empathetic nurse can.

But Jayda’s care didn’t stop there. She also recognized that the primary nurse, who was experiencing her first code, needed support. Jayda stepped in without hesitation, offering encouragement and reassurance. Her calm and steady leadership helped turn a tragic situation into one filled with grace and connection.

Sometimes nursing means holding a patient’s hand. Sometimes it means holding the hands of their loved ones. And sometimes, it means lifting up your fellow nurse when they need it most. Jayda did all of that and more.
