Today, I am writing this nomination for an exceptional nurse who is deserving. I am currently completing my fourth day at Kaiser- Vallejo, and while I have encountered many wonderful nurses, Jazmin truly sets herself apart. 

From the moment Jazmin walked in, she demonstrated genuine empathy, care, and compassion. She greeted both my family and me warmly and authentically. It was immediately clear that she truly cared for our comfort. She took the time to ask me what I needed, and then thoughtfully asked my family members the same. In those moments, she made us feel seen, valued, and welcomed. 

Jazmin also displayed exceptional knowledge and professionalism. She explained each medication I was given and calmly described how they’d hopefully help me. This brought me great comfort and confidence in my care at Kaiser.

On my fourth day, I was longing for a full shower as I had only managed to do a quick rinse a couple of days before. While other staff offered assistance for the quick rinse, on this day, Jazmin heard me and said, “Of course,” and immediately gathered a fresh robe, towels, shampoo, and that’s all I expected. Instead, Jazmin added, “I will set the shower up for you.” She then prepared the shower, carefully disconnected my IV, and secured it so it would stay dry. 

That simple yet thoughtful gesture made me feel genuinely cared for. I felt it, my family saw it, and we all agreed she truly is special.
