Jasmine was extremely exceptional at caring for the child in our care. She advocated for obtaining hair care products designed for girls of color. She also showed immense compassion to our child, who is nonverbal. She ensured that they walked our child through each step of her care and would comfort her when she would become upset. She made it a point to ensure they had all the information that was relevant to her care inside and outside of Baystate and relayed that to the doctors on duty. Jasmine spoke clearly and concisely to our child's team and workers on duty and ensured they were available immediately when any questions or concerns arose. Jasmine displayed clear leadership and compassionate skills that are not often found. Jasmine attempted nonverbal methods of communication with our child, who had no other means of communication otherwise. She utilized her skills in practicing exceptional bedside manner and was able to clarify information and care being initiated in layman's terms to ensure clear communication. Jasmine worked together to reposition, change, and support our child with ease and grace. These are the women who impacted the way our child received care in the most positive way, despite the challenges that arose with her case. Jasmine also made it a point to ensure she checked in with not only our child, but also with us to see if we needed anything. This is something that was not done during our stay at Baystate by any other nursing staff. We also noted the quick and timely responses to needs not only for our child but also for the other children she was caring for on the floor as they arose without any hesitation or looks of aggravation or annoyance. We have the utmost respect for her and hope she obtains the recognition she deserves.
