I truly would love to see Jasmine honored in my mom’s memory, as the impact she had on her last months and on the lives of my dad and me is so extraordinary.
Jasmine was my mom’s nurse when she was first hospitalized and very unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last month. Jasmine exhibited such compassion towards all of us from the very beginning. She helped us advocate and always had a listening ear and true kindness. When I thanked her once, she told me she would want the exact same thing for her family member. I truly believe it’s that approach that makes her one of the most outstanding nurses we have encountered.

We were hospitalized at Anderson, and Jasmine happened to be working there one day. When I said hi, she went out of her way to make sure to stop in and say hello to my mom. We had Jasmine again when we were transferred back to Bethlehem, and she is just so kind, caring, and gentle when helping my mom. In bad situations, I truly believe that people are put in our lives on purpose, and Jasmine is truly one of those people. She has honestly made an extremely difficult situation a little easier. I even look forward to seeing her cheerful and smiling face when I walk into the floor each morning. That helps me more than she’ll ever know. Jasmine is a true example of a person who treats people the way she would want to be treated, which makes her an outstanding nurse. She really cares and goes above and beyond her job each and every single day! I can’t imagine going through this difficult journey without her constant support! She is a true blessing to our family!

I had nominated Jasmine earlier in the month and just wanted to add to my nomination. After my last submission, my mom unfortunately passed away at home. She was a St. Luke’s pediatric nurse for 32 years, and Jasmine definitely cared for her the way my mom cared for her pediatric patients. We returned to tell Jasmine about my mom’s passing and give her a card of thanks and a prayer card. Once again, Jasmine said, "It’s the way I would have wanted to be treated." She can tell the true dedication and compassion she has just by the fact that she cried with us when we returned. Her patients mean more to her than just someone she takes care of her an 8-hour shift. The last time she took care of my mom, she bathed her and freshened her up with the most love and compassion I had ever seen while talking to my mom and us the entire time. My mom was so thankful for that time with her, and her making her feel fresh and comfortable. I truly would love to see Jasmine honored in my mom’s memory, as the impact she had on her last months and on the lives of my dad and me is so extraordinary.
