My father, a physician, has always told me that nurses are the most important members of the hospital staff. His mother was the first registered nurse anesthetist in the state of Arkansas. Through them both, I grew up hearing stories of great nurses and the qualities they possess. I believe the qualities that define a great nurse were apparent in the treatment my mother received from Jacqueline Andrade while caring for my mother during her hospital stay. Jacqueline was extremely polite and helpful to all. Her patience was endless with a very large family full of repeated questions. However, what stood out to me the most was her ability to anticipate the needs of both the patient and nurses. She was very proactive in ensuring all the patient's needs were met. She even suggested and implemented a few strategies to help my mother that no other nurses had considered. Jacqueline initiated steps that were helpful in successfully caring for my mother. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed by her insight, awareness, professionalism and maturity. She is a true asset to any organization she may represent.
