On our 3rd admission to General Surgery, we required a second surgery. While less complex than our first, as a parent, I wasn't looking forward to watching the effects of the pain my child would experience as the anesthesia wore off. We hadn't met Jannel previously, but we couldn't have asked for better post-op support that night. In an extraordinary combination of calm, confidence, and courtesy, Jannel supported us with pain management and helped us get mobile. She was always present, but in an incredibly discreet way. I can't thank her enough for her support that night. It means so much to us, especially after all the admissions and more procedures to come. She truly embodies the reason we feel comfortable here. All the nurses on 5B are terrific, but we would be remiss if we didn't call out the wonderful care we received from Jannel. Such a knowledgeable and caring nurse, who modestly performed her duties in a way that truly touched me as a parent, making my child's recovery as smooth as possible while involving us as much as we felt able to do so.
