We had a 2-month-old infant coming into the Emergency Department with mom, where the infant was a failure to thrive, and the mother eloped earlier with the child and is currently going through postpartum depression.

Janelle developed a very strong rapport with the patient's mother and was able to de-escalate the situation with mom when ACS got involved, and mother gravitated towards Janelle and formed a trustworthy relationship during a difficult time.
