During my week-long stay on the 13th Floor Medicine Unit, I received wonderful care from everyone. The nurses, PCAs, and doctors were all so kind and attentive. But if I had to choose one person who truly made a lasting impact on me, it would be Nurse Janeen Jones.

I was admitted with several ongoing health issues, including severe difficulty walking. Janeen took the time to listen to my concerns and to understand what I was going through not just physically, but emotionally too. She helped me understand my medications better, what they were for, how they worked, and why they were important for my health. She never rushed through anything.

Her teaching was calm, patient, and thorough, which helped ease my fears and allowed me to feel more in control of my health. One of the most meaningful parts of my care was how Janeen helped me regain my independence. I was struggling to walk when I was first admitted, and she never made me feel embarrassed or discouraged.

She encouraged me little by little, always focused on my safety, and gave me the confidence to try. While I can tell the unit was busy, she never had an issue walking with me until and smiling alongside of me. I was finally able to walk on my own again, and that meant the world to me.

Nurse Janeen is the kind of nurse who doesn't just do her job she lives her calling. She embodies every part of the ICARE values, Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. From the moment I met her, she made me feel safe, valued, and seen.

Integrity
Nurse Janeen consistently did the right thing, even when no one was watching. She maintained professionalism at all times and followed through on everything she said she would do. I trusted her completely with my care because she always kept her word and made sure I felt safe and respected.

Compassion
Her compassion was felt in every moment. Whether she was adjusting my pillows, explaining my medication, or simply sitting with me during a tough moment, she treated me like I was family. She didn't just care for my illness; she cared for my heart.

Accountability
Janeen always took full responsibility for my care. If there were changes to my medications or care plan, she explained everything to me in detail and made sure I was comfortable and informed. She made me feel like I was part of my own healing process, and that meant so much.

Respect
No matter how tired I was or how frustrated I felt, Janeen always treated me with dignity. She listened to me with patience, spoke kindly, and always knocked before entering my room. She reminded me that I mattered not just as a patient, but as a person.

Excellence
Everything Janeen did, she did with excellence. From how she managed my medications to how she helped me learn to walk again, every action reflected her skill, dedication, and pride in her profession. She truly went above and beyond in every aspect of my care because of her incredible dedication, compassion, and the way she lifted me up when I needed it most.

She is a true example of nursing excellence, and I will always be grateful for the difference she made in my life.
