Jan is such a fantastic person that I won't have enough room to fit it all on this page! First off, I have stage 4 colorectal cancer, and I'm always in some pain 24 hours a day, so it's hard not to show it. The very first time I had Jan as my nurse, I automatically felt I was going to be well taken care of. What impressed me was her attention to detail of my needs, which is a lot, I think. I needed many supplies, but she said she knew exactly what I needed and added just a couple of extras. She leaves, then returns with all these items wrapped around her and on the table cart to make sure my time here is as comfortable as possible. She was working all night, so those hours we know are not easy to work. But not her. She was just as bubbly and kind as she was when she first clocked in.

The amount of respect and care for her coworkers as well, they even told me everyone loves her! She has that glow about her. That “I sincerely want to help people“ aura about her. You feel at ease when you're in her presence. She is one-of-a-kind, what you could say, a diamond in the rough. She even noticed that I had problems getting comfortable in bed due to the pain, so she set up a special air mattress topper that made all the difference in the world to me. I have had a few cancer bumps on my buttocks, which are extremely sensitive to any form of contact. This mattress alleviated a lot of my discomfort. Jan went way above and beyond my expectations being hospitalized. I have been through many nightmares at hospitals, and this gave me more confidence and less anxiety because of this model nurse’s decisions. I felt like I was her only patient even though she was swamped!
