She truly inspires the “teamwork” vision.
Jan started her career here 47years ago today. In 1979, Jan started as a nurse aid while in her senior year of high school. She worked on Med-surg for several years as she completed her LPN degree in 1982 and then earned her RN license in September of 1984.
Jan continued working on Med-surg for another year before starting her long ICU career. Jan worked in our ICU until January 2023, when she fully transitioned to Clinical Informatics. As a Meditech Superuser for years, Jan was a valuable asset to the clinical team and allowed her to bring a strong understanding of the clinical EHR needs to her Informatics role.
Throughout Jan’s ICU years, she was a strong voice for her patients and colleagues. She precepted and mentored new hires and was always willing to assist her co-workers. She truly inspires the “teamwork” vision. Jan’s career follows the true reason the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award was created.
