Jamille continually goes above and beyond for the cancer center. She leads by example and never expects someone to do something that she is not willing to do herself. We had been short-staffed in the medical oncology clinic and had several employees out for vacations or deaths in the radiation oncology clinic and infusion services. Jamille covered these areas while having a positive smiling attitude and running the department. Some days she would be the only nurse for Radiation Oncology and helped out in Medical Oncology at the same time. She was also training a new nurse full-time while doing all her other duties. She is a constant encourager to her team and is the reason many in the department have had the courage to pursue higher education in nursing. She has encouraged and believed in her staff and her love for nursing. Recently, one of our former nurses, who is now an NP, told me she is the nurse that she is today because of Jamille. I think this is true of many of us in the department. All leaders could learn something from Jamille.
