I had a bad day and was still throwing up blood and in a lot of pain. I pushed my call light asking to get my pain medication. My nurse walked in and told me that I was in good hands and to just push the call button if I needed anything. I hate to say it because I understand they are nurses and have other patients besides myself so I understood if they couldn’t be there all the time. Well, I am here to tell you that I was wrong. Every time I have pushed my call button my nurse has been here. No joke, this is exactly what a nurse defines as - compassionate, full of empathy, a heart of gold, and most important to me treating patients like they are family. USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is extremely lucky to have this nurse working for them.
